This piece was created for a group who wanted to support the Obama campaign. Carrie Kaplan created the art and here is the text from the website that explains the project. The t-shirts sold out immediately.

(Ladies: this designation is not limited to those with offspring. It's also for all of us sisters, friends and daughters -- a.k.a Hot Mamas -- who endorse Barack Obama for President, and wish to joyously celebrate his candidacy.)

You can show your enthusiastic support, make a statement, and donate to the Obama campaign in one fashionable gesture: you can get yourself, and the girls you love, a "Mamas for Obama" t-shirt!

100% of your donation will go directly to the Obama campaign, because the seed money for this project comes from sales of our Organic Chocolate Truffles. We are three women with seven children between us, jobs, chores, and understanding husbands. Our idea was to bring spirit, passion and fun to women on the Obama team, while finding a way to stretch our contributions as far as possible. So we hope that you will give what you can give, and relish in your Obama Mama T-shirt. In other words, quantities are limited and will go quickly, so order yours asap.

We are happy to ship your shirt anywhere in the US for a flat rate shipping and credit card processing charge of $7.50 for one shirt, or $10 for five shirts.

Roaring Fork Valley and Garfield County residents can save shipping charges by picking up their shirts at Dos Gringos on Thursday, October 2 during the VP debate (where we will all have a chance to show that the female on the other ticket does NOT, by mere virtue of her gender, represent us.) Please indicate this preference when ordering.

You can pay securely with a credit card through our Pay Pal service. After typing in the amount of your donation, plus the shipping costs listed above, you will be given a chance to add comments. This is where you should tell us: 1) the size and style of your shirt, 2) your email address, 3) your mailing address 4) your phone number and 5) if you are so inclined, why you will be voting Obama on November 4th. We will email a confirmation within a day, and will ship all orders by October 3rd. Your phone number is in case of complications. ** Garfield County and Roaring Fork Valley residents who wish to pay with a card, but will not need their shirts shipped should add $3 to their donation to cover Pay Pal processing fees -- these fees are included in the shipping charges listed above.

(A humble disclaimer...) We realize that there are more sophisticated ways of running a web site, but since we want to give every spare dime to the campaign, we aren't investing in such luxuries. That, and we expect to sell out within a week, and ship within days of that, so this blog is what you get. It's a darn cute shirt, and it's a fun way to vote with your dollar.
